We are pleased to honor four outstanding medical researchers with our medicine prizes worth over half a million euros in May 2022. These prizes include the Ernst Jung Prize for Medicine, the Ernst Jung Medal for Medicine in Gold for Lifetime Achievement, and the Ernst Jung Career Advancement Award to support young medical researchers.

SUPPORT FOR PHD STUDENTS
With the Ernst Jung Fellowship Program, the Jung Foundation expands its support for young medical scientists. PhD students of the University of Hamburg can apply here for the fellowship worth 15,000 euros until March 31, 2022. Winners are selected by the Jung Foundation Board of Trustees.

SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PHYSICIANS
Call for applications: The Ernst Jung Career Advancement Award 2023 has been launched. Endowed with 210,000 euros over a three-year period, this is the foundation's only prize that allows direct, personal applications. Young physicians with independent research projects can apply here until August 31, 2022.

VIRTUAL REALITY IMPROVES LEARNING SUCCESS AT THE UKE
The Jung Foundation has financed a study on the use and establishment of VR technologies for cardiopulmonary resuscitation in medical studies at the Hamburg Medical Faculty. It has now successfully been completed. Detailed results of the study are summarized here.

SUPPORTING YOUNG TALENTS WITH THE GERMAN SCHOLARSHIPS
In 2022, the Jung Foundation awards German scholarships to three medical students at the University of Hamburg. The Deutschlandstipendium ensures a monthly financial allowance for three awarded students. The foundation is thus promoting young talents in the medical field for the fifth subsequent year.
